ASKING GOD FOR HELP
Here's a short primer on asking for help, not just from God, but for all the spiritual beings working with him. God delegates, praying to God puts you in the system, and anyone who can provide assistance automatically becomes aware, and considers your request. Now, not everyone has God's ear, not everyone will get help for what they ask. You must show yourself ready, and able, to not only have your prayers answered, but prove that you are willing to do the work, and sustain it. Not just to get out of a jam now and then. To grow spiritually, you must commit to a lifelong practice, God does not simply help someone and walks away, neither should you.
If you manage to become a person of interest to him, he will take you very seriously, and he won't just drop you ten feet down the road. God's followers can only help those whom God approves, believers who are willing to do what is required to go higher, and higher. Not to say God will not help others, but his help will only be sporadic, when facing situations that you truly need help with. Then he will leave you to your own devices for a while, to see how much you have learned, and if you come back for good reasons, or only when you find yourself in trouble again. So you need to earn regular help, and without regular help, it is nearly impossible to experience a good amount of spiritual growth. But don't worry, every step is manageable, you start small, and you grow as you go, one day at a time.
I am saying these things, not to discourage, but for you to know that the main part is about dedication and intent, and to decide to be in this for the long term. People who pursue a deep healing journey must feel called for it, it is not a fad, not something you should try for a while because you think it is cool, or to grow a social media profile. Respect yourself enough to know if you are ready, or not, and respect the spiritual beings you would ask for help also, including God:)

Yes, your heart must be part of the process, and in the right place. That is how our prayers reach God, by the strength of our love, of our courage, and our determination, not so much of our thoughts.
So, what to pray for, how, and why?
Asking God for help, again, think of yourself as similar to a very sophisticated computer/A.I., now full of viruses, worms, trojans, backdoor programs allowing evil in, important files nearly destroyed, needing urgent repairs. And just like you would take such a computer into a repair shop, you can expect to pay a lot of money and wait for a along time if you want your computer, and your important files, saved, and working almost as new. Now, we are so much more complicated, and require more work, and specialized services. God can do it, with all the people who help out, but, it is costly in resources, it is time consuming, and why would he help you? If you have not learned to stay away from porn sites, to keep an active, and strong, anti-virus, to have a good firewall, to stop opening sketchy emails, then your computer will get corrupted again, and so will you. All of his work, gone to waste. You might have so much money that you don't care how your actual computer gets, and how much other people will need to work to restore it, but there is no money in the world that can cover God's tab. So, if he is to help you, how will you return the favor, how will you show respect, how will you convince him, and them, that you are worth working on, and saving?

I base my work on helping those who believe in God mainly, because I have learned my lessons, what this place is. And how easy it is to fall when you don't believe in God enough, or in yourself enough, to maintain a high level of self care and selflessness, towards a higher goal of helping others with who you have become. That is how you get their attention the most, not just for wanting to be a better person, but to be a better person with the intent of helping others, once you have reached a level high enough to be there in strength and continued dedication. That is what heaven/the greater world is based on, loving people who have become better, giving more, who pay it forward. And those are the people they want to help, and recruit.
Those who believe only in themselves, they will not be saved, they can't, because they are unwilling to surrender to a greater power. They believe they are the greater power, and they will perish with this world. I am not saying that I will only help those who believe, or want to believe, but I will look at the bottom line a lot closer if they don't. And I don't mean money, but time and energy. God can give everything, God can give freely, but for me, my time is limited and I need to maximize it. It's not that I don't care, I just need to know that I am doing the best that I can with my limited resources. Time is slipping by, and at some point, those who still refuse to follow the call, well... The cost of operating this world is increasing, and it does have a high cost to it, truly. And at some point the line will be drawn, some will be saved, and the others will need to accept their fate.

That is the death of the ego in a way, and spiritual maturity. To fully accept that the world will end, that everyone who is not saved will perish, and everything that we have created will be washed away, and find peace in all of it. Even if you don't have a guarantee of being saved yourself, you accept that as well.
You face death in you first, only then can eternal life find you.
