He is one of the top beings out there, that is who you need to become to be the top commander of an entire planet. Habitable planets are fought for, and won over, then protected from any one else who would come and claim them. And you need to be at the top of your game to accomplish such a feat in a place with space ships and very advanced technology, so way ahead of anything we have here. Our top hackers would not hold a candle to anyone up there. God became the top of his class in all sorts of ways; technology, leadership, compassion, community, supporters... You need to convince many to follow you, and to keep following you when times get tough.
Why do you think God needed to squash that famous rebellion? It was very costly for him and his supporters to do so, but it needed to be done, evil cannot be tolerated in such an environment. So at the same time, God is also very old school, all boiling down to the good versus evil thing, and evil cannot be tolerated. We invent all sorts of fiction with heroes and villains mixing up good and evil, but in the real world up there, something like that cannot exist. There must be very narrow lines that separate one from the other. And that is why for us, no one can be accepted up there who have not traced that line inside of themselves, clearly enough.

So, to not tolerate evil, you need to know all about it, like the most advanced computer anti-viruses. And evil will always adapt, always grow stronger, so you need to grow stronger and faster than evil can keep up, otherwise you lose. That is our job here, learn all that we can about good, learn all that we can about evil, then walk towards good, and walk away from evil, it is the path of love. If you can't do that on your own, then you better find yourself a good person to follow, that knows the way. That is who Jesus is, the only being that knows the one way back to God, away from all evil. That is why Jesus needed to come here completely free of evil, even a small speck spoils the lot. Then he could run the risk of getting lost, and he would not be able to lead anyone back home. He had a clear mission, and message, to convey, and he had to be at the top of his game.
That is our suffering, that is how we grow, to learn about evil even when it is not fun to do so, and stay away from it, then learn about good even when it hurts us to find out how far we are from it, and put the effort into changing, a little bit every day. And overcome the bitterness when we find out all the ways other people have hurt us, and all the extra work we need to do to heal from it, and overcome all the disappointment for our own sins and inactions of the past. And seek atonement and forgiveness even when it breaks our heart to do so, that is how we grow.
Evil ruins joy, it ruins love, it ruins a healthy community spirit, so we see the result of evil everywhere. If you can't find love, or joy, or purpose, then you are surrounded by evil, plain and simple. And a word of caution; happiness is not joy, joy is healthy, it is of love, happiness is cheap, it can be bought and relies on its opposites to exist, it can be found in unhealthy foods, in drugs, in alcohol. Don't get misled about happiness or positivity, joy comes from peace, and as with unconditional love, they can exist on their own without opposites as they are of God. Positivity can be had simply by looking at a bloated bank account and making yourself believe that your life is on the right track just because of it.
Keep your face to the light, and your back to the darkness, and God will see you coming, and trust that he will be there even in the worst of storms.

RULE NUMBER ONE:
Again, God is not some mythical, magic spell wielding being hiding behind a cloud somewhere "up there". He is a real person with feelings and emotions similar to yours. he is absolutely not religious, he is much more of a science and technology person, but to that, add a tremendous amount of love, wisdom, and dedication to his children, which we all are. His miracles can be as easily explained as our cell phones to the room sized computers of the past, advanced technology and understanding of energy exchanges and dynamics. He is more relatable and accessible than people understand, but he has his rules and his reasons for what he does, earn his trust and he will never let you down.
